Veterinarian

Dr. Dennis Johnson DVM

Dr. Dennis Johnson has been with the Weiser Veterinary Clinic since December 2000. Dennis grew up in Ririe. A small town in eastern Idaho, where he gained experience working on area ranches and farms.

After graduating from Ririe High School, he moved to Boise, Idaho, where he obtained a Bachelor of Biology degree from Boise State University. The next stop was Washington State University, located in Pullman, Washington. There, he obtained a Bachelor of Animal Sciences degree before obtaining his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with honors from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 1999.

Dennis started his veterinary career at the Country Animal Clinic in Island City, OR. When the opportunity came to join the Weiser Veterinary Team and move back to Idaho, it was an easy decision. Dennis enjoys spending time with his family, team roping, and helping local ranchers with gathering and branding. Dennis has truly enjoyed living and raising his family here in the Weiser River Valley and looks forward to continuing to live in and serve the area for years to come.

Dr. Walker enjoys spending time on their ranch with her husband, Conley, and children, Claire and John. She started the Weiser FFA Alumni & Supporters group and stays busy with her kids activities in sports, 4-H, rodeo and fishing.

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Holly Hopkins DVM

Dr. Holly Hopkins has played many key roles with the Weiser Vet Clinic team since 2013. Holly grew up outside of Ontario and has many memories of bringing animals from her family’s ranch to our hospital. Holly spent many summers and breaks as a technician with our team while working through her undergrad years until she received her acceptance letter to chase her dreams of becoming a doctor. Her hard work and determination paid off in 2021 when she added the initials DVM to her last name. Our team is extremely grateful that she chose to come home after graduation and help serve our clients and their pets. “Owning that many animals led to veterinary visits and meeting the incredible staff at our local clinic,” Holly said. “I wanted to be like them and help people help their animals, no matter what species.” Holly has never met an animal, she wasn’t willing to try to help from cattle and horses to dogs and cats and exotic pets such as rabbits, rats, and even the occasional lizard. Dr. Hopkins raises Registered Quarter Horses in her spare time. She also maintains a cattle herd and enjoys her free time making mohair cinches and living a simple cowboy life.

Veterinarian

Dr. Stephanie K. Flick DVM

Dr. Stephanie Flick was raised on a peanut and cotton farm in West Texas where her family also raised Quarter Horses and had a small cow calf operation. With this upbringing and being actively involved in 4-H and FFA, Dr. Flick knew she wanted to be a large animal veterinarian from a very young age. She studied Pre-Veterinary Medicine at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas while also receiving training and mentorship from Dr. Bo Brock as a veterinary assistant during the summers in Lamesa, Texas. Upon acceptance to veterinary school at the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Dr. Flick served as President of the Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, was chosen by her classmates to receive the Bo Brock Award for collegiality and good humor and was selected for the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Excellence in Large Animal Surgery Award, among other honors. Following graduation in 2013 she returned to Lamesa, Texas in order to complete a 1-year internship at Brock Veterinary Clinic. Following her internship, Dr. Flick found herself at Oregon State University where she participated in a 2-year Clinical Fellowship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Flick remained at OSU where she gained advanced surgical training while completing her Master’s thesis evaluating early osteochondrosis in foals. It was in Corvallis where she met her husband, Gabe, who completed his PhD. in Crop Sciences, and the two returned to Gabe’s home state of Idaho. As their family and farm began growing, they jumped at the opportunity to put down roots here in Weiser and live being a part of this great community . Her professional interests include equine surgery and lameness, equine reproduction, and equine medicine. During her free time, you’ll usually find her outdoors farming with her husband, or keeping with their two small children, Lane & Collins.
